Jackets

I have been looking on Ebay for a leather motorcycle jacket and found quite a few along these line. Price is in my range, but it seems atad low (I know its american, but still a leather jacket under 100 bucks?) anyone know about these or can give me a recomendation on a jacket that isnt too pricey.

Looks to me like the only mark against that jacket is lack of armor. I have one similar, Wilson's leather brand but the liner is permanent, not zip-out so mine's winter only. The style is the same. The leather on mine is quite thick. My guess is that the reason for the price is the high number of companies producing the samy style jacket. Increased supply drives down price.

The cheaper ones probably won't be top quality, but if you're on a budget like me - cheap protection is better than no protection.

For what it's worth, I got mine on sale 50 % off for $75.00.

One other thing, Im also looking at boots as well, Im thinking about a work boot or high shoe style steel toe with laces. Found a few Harley Davidson boots on Ebay at a decent price (I made a mistake of registering on Ebay.com instead of .ca so I have to calculte in my head and then theres duty and shipping..blah) But back to the question, I like lace up boots, but I see alot of them are slip ons, is this because the laces can get caught in the chain or soemthing in that regards? if I go with the ones with out laces, are they as good fitting as one with laces, snugwise? thanks!

Those "Italian Stone Design" jackets are trash from what I've heard. I bought my current jacket from bikerleather.com and have been very pleased. Prices are great and the jacket is excellent quality, thick leather.

I have a Wilson's Leather jacket to sell if you are interested. It is a Large and similar style to the one you saw on Ebay but also has a Thinsulate lining. Cost $200 when I bought it but that was a while ago. It's in great condition. I outgrew it before I started riding so it's never been used as a riding jacket. I'd let it go for $60. I think I have a pair of Harley boots too but I'd have to check the size. They are not even a year old and I only wore them twice. I prefer slip on boots and they are lace up. you should still be able to use .ca if you registered at .com

I did the opposite and it'll let me use .com if I really want to.

Thanks for the tips. As for the jacket coach, Unless I loose some weight I doubt a large will fit me. I have a leather jacket just for wearing around town (wouldnt wear it on the bike, sentimental value to me and Id be quite upset if soemthign was to happen) and its an XXL. but thanks for the offer

I bought that jacket. I was very pleased, its a heavy bikers jacket and I have no complaints except that I paid 50 bux for mine, not 24.

Got my jacket in the mail today..looks snazzy..smells good.. makes the little squeeky noises..now all i need is a bike to go with it..

I would never get slip on boots. I ride motorcycles for Australia post and was issued a pair of slip on style boots. I got taken off the bike by a taxi and one of my boots remained in the middle of the road, where it got ripped off.
I recently had an accident and was wearing a pair of alpinestars riding boots that use a zipper and velcro up the inside to keep them on. I have a big graze on the toe of the boot and a nice hole in the side of it where one of my bones cut through. I firmly believe that the boots saved my foot and I would not dare ride without proper riding boots ever again.
