Wow! This is so hard to watch because no matter how safe you are you can never trust other drivers. I am amazed that it seems that the rider remained on his feet. I can only imagine how horrified and then relieved the rider must of been. I bet you are a stronger and even safer rider now!

I been rear ended once, luckily by some silly woman who couldn't wait until I started rolling again after a red light. Impact sent my bike forward about six feet, but no damage done to myself or the Sabre...needless to say I left her with her ears ringing and face bright red after I had a few choice words with her.
But the other day I came across my first rider down of the season. Coming up to the tunnel on Highway 99, there is a rather sharp and step bend where Steveston Highway feeds onto the freeway southbound. Seems someone decided to switch lanes from the outside lane and into the inside lane coz it was moving...and they tagged a biker. Seemed okay, saw him sitting on the highway divider with the EMS crew looking over him.
You just cannot trust any cager at anytime. There is always one out there who is going to do something behind, infront, or beside you that can ruin your entire day. Always scan 360 and expect them to do something stupid.
