Re: Beer!
You need to get to Colorado. We have literally hundreds of microbreweries around the state now. Most of the mountain towns have at least one or two, the tourist towns have about 15, and larger cities have just a plain ton...

Re: Beer!
Ahh... refreshing cold beer!
Like JVRR, I really enjoying trying all types of beer from every corner of the world. Everytime I'm on a trip outside of Canada (or even within Canada) I have to try the local suds.
Must have quaffed over 300 different brands of beer by now... sadly, unlike JVRR, I didn't keep track.
England and Europe has a lot of different brewskies to enjoy. I'm currently really enjoying what they call a "Proper Pint" here in the UK. It's a cool temperature beer rather than served ice cold, it's not carbinated (but not flat) and you get a nice pint of it (550ish ml) at 4-5% alcohol at the local pubs (that are more common than donut shops!).
My favs here in the UK are:
London Pride

Guiness (only from the Pub!)

Boddingtons

Smithwicks

Greene King IPA

Abbot Ale

and for non-beer, you HAVE TO TRY THIS!
Crabbies Alcoholic Ginger Beer

Back home, my unobtanium is:
Rolling Rock

Re: Beer!

I agree you must try Crabbies ginger beer ~ it is lush!
Slightly off topic the best Whisky Mac is made with Crabbies ginger wine (Scottish) & Jameson whiskey (Irish) + ice.
Great on a cold winter night!

Re: Beer!
I was never a fan of alcohol... couldn't stand the taste. The few that I tolerate and actually like are Stella, Blue Moon and Corona, my asian family has a thing for Tsingtao. Even though I dislike alcohol, I have this weird admiration for whiskey (the American, Irish, whatever) because I love the aftertaste. How and where it was stored, the age and distillation process. Lovely.
Still... soda for me unless at a social.

Re: Beer!
Be careful with the whiskey mac tho - it is so easy to drink & then you try & stand up.
Best in front of an open fire with good company & fog outside.

LOL! So true. We drove Scotland just a month ago and I can see why the Scotts like their Scotch Whiskey as it suits the landscape and weather to a tee.mogster wrote:Be careful with the whiskey mac tho - it is so easy to drink & then you try & stand up.
