Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice
I've gone through several mesh jackets looking for one that allows a lot of air flow. My favorite so far is the Olympia Airglide Mesh...lots of air flow through it, and it feels lighter and more comfortable than the First Gear, Icon, and ?? (blanking on the other one) jackets I've worn.

Do you mean like this one for $229: http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Product ... 07S-S.aspx
There is one for $300 (http://www.chaparral-racing.com/Product ... 49C-S.aspx) , but I just can't afford that much on a jacket.

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice
The second one is the one I have...I have the older Airglide 2 model, but it's the same jacket. And yep, it's pricey... I didn't pay quite that much, though, I got mine at a dealership near here. I think I paid around $220.

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice
About the uncomfortable jacket... Did it feel funny when you were on the bike, or just standing around? All of my gear feels funny standing around and when I get on my bike I hardly notice it. This is the first summer I've worn something other than a Joe Rocket mesh jacket. The armor took a little getting used to, at first, but after a few hundred miles I forgot about it.
Ooooooh. Shiny!

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice
It's when I'm not moving on my bike that it gets hot, I don't mind standing around in it etc. But there is a lot of traffic in my area so it's gets very hot very fast.

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice
The first mesh jacket I had was from First Gear, had all the armour it worked Ok.
My son uses a Joe Rockett mesh jacket.
In the summer I use a cooling vest, under a Sonora Air Jacket from Tour Master

Re: Hot Weather Jacket advice
There's no real solution for sitting in traffic. Mash jacket is generally better than not, since you bring your own shade. Aside from that, explore alternate routes?

It's New Jersey. Most densely populated state in the country. The "alternate route" is to avoid the place altogether!MmeMagpie wrote:Aside from that, explore alternate routes?

Brackstone lives further up state than me, and the traffic is even worse by him.
To get sort of back on topic.......

I have had a Powertrip Mojave mesh jacket for years that's served me pretty well.
