Ok, since you all asked. But I do warn you, this is PG13 stuff and you may be greatly disapointed from all the built up hype about it, but here goes:

Well, aparently someone in the neighbourhood (who lives here) called the police to come and investigate because they said I had bonfires going in the front yard. Of course bombfires in the front yard is not a good idea, especially really massive 20' high raging ones! Now, I do live in an older neighbourhood and some of the residents are indeed old so their vision may be a tad off. That could be way they called the police as they mistook my raging bonfires for the 4 tiki torches I had out on the front lawn.

Now, I don't know if it was a prank or not on me but the police were fine with the whole thing (although did tend not to laugh about it as much as I did) and nicely sat outside of my house for the next hour with their lights on I guess to make sure the tiki torches were safe.

In my defence, I did put them 75' apart and 5' from the curb (I have a 480' front reverse pie lot) and made sure they were not under a tree, be a danger to anyone passing by or catch fire to anything, I also had a fire extinguisher at the front door handy too. Funny enough I used these same ones since 2004 (I used to have 10 of them) in Canada and in the UK without any complaints.

Next year you bet they are going back up (such a black sheep eh?), but I think I'll have them closer around the house.

You can see the 4 bombfires in the photo around the front of the property here.

So, I'm guessing you mean "Bonfires" because I'm pretty sure they would have locked you up for the "Bomb" varity...

A Bombfire is bigger than a bonfire (French for "good"fire; or maybe it just sounds like it could be French). Funny though I do not ever remember it being called a "Bonfire" in Eastern Canada (ie, Toronto), we always used the term "bombfire". But yes, I have fixed my spelling error and made it a bonfire for ya so it's more international. Of course, I had neither, unless you were an ant, then the tiki torch flame was pretty big!
