I have yet to ride for a year, but in a little less then 9 months I have put 19,260 miles on my 2014 Suzuki DL650A.

How do you like the Suzuki DL650A and what kind of riding do you do?

I like the DL650A, but I am not in love with it. I think of it is a utility bike that is capable of doing everything I want it to do, but it is not that fantastic at anything. As a new rider, I think it was a good choice for me as a learning motorcycle. I ride almost every day, with a short commute to work, and on a lot of weekends I ride on what passes for twisty roads in North Texas. I also like to do long distance rides on the highways to go to places I have never visited before.

I had planned a lot of riding for 2015, but I just took a 12% pay cut at work which has consumed most of my disposable income. Instead of increasing my riding tempo in 2015, I am going to have to cut back quite a bit. I crossed a bunch of planned rides off my 2015 list.

Thanks Richard, I ride a Harley right now and it's fine for heading down the highway but a bit scary on gravel. I'm always searching out new roads to try and sometimes find I've inadvertently wondered onto a dirt road. I'm looking for a bike I can do road trips on but will not make me wet myself in the dirt. Sorry about the loss of riding time.

Hell, with my expenses over the last couple of years, I know just how you feel. Went to my daughters house, about 600 miles away, and she had to put up with me for 5 extra days while I waited for my pay cheque to be deposited so I could afford the ride home... At least she loves me enough to laugh it off and treat me like a king while I was there...

I can relate. I retired a little while back and now I have more time and plans than money. To top it off I just discovered my bike has a serious electrical problem. Now I must save all my nickels and dimes to get it fixed before spring.
