Extended warranties are typically rippoffs not only with motorcycles but with other items as well, like a lot of electronics. Personally, I'll never buy them on any item; and would rather play the odds.

Here is my advice, whether it is an extended warranty for a bike or a car.
Take the money you would have spent on the extended warranty and put it toward maintaining your ride. Even if it is just oil and filter changes, learn to do them yourself (money saved) and now you can spend a bit extra for synthetic oil and a premium filter. Flush your hydraulic clutch and brakes every year (another easy to perform task). Change your coolant every year (easy to do ).
Bottom line, a solid maintenance plan is cheaper and your bike benefits directly from it. The money tied up in an extended warranty is doing nothing for the health of your bike.
