This post is awesome!

No matter how harsh replies are toward verm, he never really seems to take serious offense and insult the person back-but he doesn't listen either or consider other's perspectives.

However, I think that him being the owner of the bike, he's allowed to do whatever he wants to it- so why criticize him so much for it even if it's for his better good? I haven't been on this forum very long, but I already know that Verm is the kind of guy who is gonna do what he wants to do.. I'm kind of the same way.

Verm, ride safe buddy, and good luck! you may need it..

People here are just concerned about his safety. I guess he just chooses to ignore it.
FWIW, the bike Verm has is the type of bike I would want too. I know I don't have the skills to handle something like that, so I'll make my bones on something smaller & more forgiving for now. I would think you need at least 2 yrs riding experience before buying a bike like that.

I would think more then that, I won't be stepping up to a 600cc bike for another year or two (probably a 599), and I'll probably never end up on a bike like that. But if I wanted to I'd wait like 5 years first, otherwise I wouldn't have the skills neccesary to utilize the bike's potential. But seriously, verm, everyone here isn't try to just yell at you (like in Heimdall's case) they're trying to help you to not hurt yourself. Just because you haven't been in a major accident in the few months you've been riding, doesn't mean you won't eventually.

then i found out about the mentally challenged limiter and that's the reason for it.
Verm- without meaning to, you've given a perfect example why a high-powered inline-4 super sport bike is not a practical around-town bike. Sure there's people that can adapt such a bike to that use, but they're highly skilled. It's like making the fish swim "out of the water." It's not the natural environment for this kind of bike.

If you want to experience torque down at 2-3K rpms, you need to sell that litre bike and get something with a flatter power curve. Something that would still break any speed limit, but would be more manageable on local streets.

That timing mentally challenged was put there for a reason by the Suzuki engineers. They know that 98% of riders are going to have a problem putting too much power down on upshifts without it - which will highside the bike. Your intention to be careful is not enough to counteract this fact of physics. And your skill level is nowhere near the 2% of riders who can deal with it.

Question for you: have you considered what part power management skill (or lack of) had to play in the line you chose through that curve where you crashed? Maybe there was a way to avoid that gravel, and power management might have played a part?

Of course power mangement didn't play a part in hist crash, he hit gravel, while taking a line through the curve, not because he was going to fast.

But here's a thing, a good line through the curve is a line that a car could follow. This means there should be at least 2 tire troughs through the curve that are clear of gravel (these are what I have been riding in because of all the sand put down to counteract our snow). So he went a little wide, which means he was going a little fast, which means he had a little to much throttle. What happened afterwards he claims was panic. What did you do when you panicked? Did you snap shut the throttle? Or did your maybe jiggle it open a little? Did you stand the bike up and brake? Or just slide with it?

i tried to stand the bike up and hit the brakes but the downhill momentum that carried me was too much. i was only using maintenance throttle during the slide.

like i said before, the slide was not very strong but since im inexperienced... i got a panic attack. instead of pushing to lean more and go on w/ the turn, i tried to stand the bike up and brake while already in the edge on that downhill decreasing radius turn.

i guess it's an issue of power mangement too BUT only in terms of a mistake in a concious decision of corner entrance speed. not a mistake of accidentally gunning the throttle.

I also think that moderators who have let you post you pure BS on this site have indirectly lowered its standards almost to the point of condoning such immature, egocentric behavious that will result in destruction.

I know all about being a smart arse on the roads I only have one leg left to prove it and I was lucky, you may not be

good luck

If this site doesnt move VX to his own topic on the forum which could read " hang out with those who have no brains, we are the insane" then I will prolly give some of you a good present by removing my account here.....I misstook this forum for serious riders wanting to chat about hardcore riding on all kinds of machines....meebee I was rong :(
