Don't be! It's not like there are a ton of threads here. This one is still on the first page. When I first joined, I used to reply to threads on the first page too; and I later realized that some of them were 2 years old.
Welcome to TMW by the way. Nice RR!

Thank you!!!

Your RR incarnation is arguably the best looking sport bike ever! They totally blew it with the new 1KRR. It's supposed to be even better performance-wise than yours but it is mfugly!
Agreed! According to testers 120 MPH 4th gear throttle wheelies are possible with it's performance, but with those looks, you're still not impressing any ladies!

I do just fine "impressing the ladies" and I don't need a motorcycle to do so. I have motorcycles to RIDE, not pose!

Day-amm! Now that's amazing!
The thing is, even in my fearless stupid teen/early 20s, I didn't have the balls to ride a wheelie at 120 mph! I certainly don't now.

Haha you're a lady's man huh?
How do you know it's you and not the bike?

Just kidding bro...
My girlfriend loves the fact that I ride and have 4 bikes.....then again, she rides too!

So you're doing them at 95MPH on your HyperMotard?!

I don't know why Ducati even put a front wheel on the Hyper!? It's never on the ground!!!
The HyperMotard takes the fun quotient to a new level! Awesome bike!!!

I've only done first and second gear on the Tard.

I have gotten quite conservative I guess. The first gear is very abrupt(a quick flick of the throttle will stand it right up) on the 'tard so 2nd gear is more reassuring. The 'tard is not actually nervous but is also nowhere as stable as the CBR. But yes as fun quotient goes, it is off the charts!

Not to revive an old argument, but if I took the time to attempt to work out the math, I'd guess that I've probably made hundreds of thousands of clutchless upshifts... and yes, even downshifts... and I've never worn out or killed a transmission on any of my bikes; dirt, road race or street.
As some have said, the "trick" is in the technique... and part of that trick is knowing not only HOW to do it, but WHEN. If I'm at full throttle, fast approaching the redline, I'm tempted to say that it's BETTER for your bike than using the clutch as there's virtually no risk of bouncing the engine off the rev limiter when the engine isn't under load.
There was even a time in my racing carreer where I was racing while still recovering from a broken left wrist... it would fatigue me to use the clutch, so I began clutchless DOWNshifting in certain corners and I did so with no ill effects on the engine or transmission.
I'll even say that it's a good thing to experiment with in a controlled environment under conservative riding conditions (ie, not going into a corner at full tilt) so that you'll know how to control your bike should your clutch cable or clutch master cylinder fail.

I rolled my left ankle running on an uneven surface recently. And when riding my BMW it sometimes hurt a little to upshift on the clunky "car-type" transmission. Clutchless upshifting is the only way to make this tranny upshift "liquid velvety" like my CBR (snick, snick, snick). It upshifts so effortlessly without the clutch that it certainly relieved my ankle from further pain while riding this bike.
