The only wild argument is that scientists will soon find a homosexual gene that causes people to be gay from birth. Ever since it became popular to come out of the closet (thanks, Hollywood), gays and lesbiens alike have been fighting to normalize the behavior so as to render an opinion like mine party-esque in nature. So now we have scientists blaming genes for people being fat, gay, and anything else once thought socially unacceptable, and gays are pushing to legalize gay marriage. Why? Easy...because the more it becomes socially acceptable, the more bigoted folks like me appear to be, eventually driving Christians into the very closet from whence they themselves came.

You guys always laugh when we say normalizing homosexuality is a gateway to other perversions becoming mainstream, but it's already happening. I've already read a number of stories of three people getting married to one another, and recently Massachusettes made it no longer a crime to have sex with an animal. Next thing you know scientists will discover a pedophile gene and since abortion clinics are not required to obtain parental consent for a minor to have an abortion, we'll have socially-accepted pedofilia running rampant. And you wonder why God is going to destroy the earth?

Sheesh...get a clue.

And if they do find it, who are you going to claim put it there? Darwin?

Now there's a healthy Christian attitude.
What of it? The church is corrupt and unfaithful to God, and is plagued with idol worship and rituals. Revelation speaks of the Anti-Christ's right hand man...a spiritual leader...and I happen to believe that man will be the Pope.

Of course, you probably assume that means I think all Catholics are evil and that I have already passed judgement on them all. But if you do you're wrong. Most members of the Catholic church are well-intentioned, just horribly mislead.

Cute, Gummi. How ironic you should mention the founder of evolution who happened to denounce his own teachings on his death bed.

Of course, Hitler found his books interesting so maybe he was on to something...

Not at all. But by all means, carry on with your characteristic wild assumptions and chest thumping. You're very entertaining.

What "wild assumptions" have I made, Gummi? I'd like a nice, neat list so I can respond properly to each accusation.

As for the chest thumping, if you insist on believing I have a holier-than-thou attitude then you miss the point. I am speaking straight from God's word here. If you find these viewpoints to be intolerant, opinionated, or bigoted, take it up with Him.

If the word of God makes you feel ashamed of something you have done, then it sounds to me like you need atonement. You cannot hide from God behind thick shades of grey. I am just as much a sinner as anyone here. I need constant guidance to keep me on the straight and narrow. And this is not a competition to see who can die with the most right answers. Ultimately we're talking about the fate of your everlasting soul. I care enough about the people in this forum to stand my ground and not succumb to the popular opinions just to fit in and be liked. I have no problem being the despised outcast if it means getting through to at least one person in some way.
The word of God makes me feel good, but you and I don't see the word of God as the same thing. To me the thunder is the word of God. The wind. God is all around us and God is love. God wants us to work together and take good care of his creation.

The bible does not make me feel the need to atone. I do find it has great value, but equal to that of any other teachings of wisdom in holy books. The bible makes me see how long man has been having this same arguement.

And what is my thick shade of grey? I think I stand very firm on what I believe and I am not wishy washy. I have pointed out in several places where your logic and your vision of God are not a match for the God that I KNOW. You are wrong about your description of God in my opinion. I do not fear the judgement of what you say God will do, because I think that is false. The view you have of God, based on a very old man made book, contiues to baffle me.

I will not despise, shun, or outcast you. The same way you know what you know about God, me too. We don't agree but we both love God. I view you as missing the boat by taking a wisdom book too literally and you view me as being in trouble for not thinking the book is literal.

Anyway, I think we're done here. We could beat this back and forth, but in the end neither of us will be changes. Cheers to you buddy, and ride safe.

He hasn't answered any of my queries. Besides, it's not Him who I find to be intolerant, opinionated and bigoted here - it's you.

So... did God personally tell you to despise the Catholics or was that something you came up with on your own?

Dave, I like you. I enjoy your company (and that of Kris) and I respectfully agree to disagree. No harm no foul.

And I certainly hope you haven't written me out of any rides planned for this spring/summer. To answer Kris's question from quite a ways back, I don't think any differently of any of you. We've all made decisions in our lives, some bad some good, some easy some difficult. In the end we are all God's children and are equals. I sit not in judgement, but fellowship.

Unless one happens to be homosexual, a member of the ACLU and/or Catholic, of course.

I believe I made it clear, Gummi, that I despise the Catholic church, not Catholics.

Code: Select all

Revelation 17:1

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great mean that sitteth upon many waters
The Bible refers to churches as women, in this case a mean. A mean is unfaithful. So, we're obviously talking about an unfaithful church. Unfaithful to whom? Well, God of course. And of all the churches on the face of the earth, which one would you say "sitteth upon many waters"? The Catholic church is by far the largest, most outreaching and influential church in the world. And it is chock full of corruption, scandal, idol worship, and churchianity. What a perfect way for the Anti-Christ to gain public support...by working hand-in-hand with the Pope during the Tribulation.

Your turn.
