How about the bike that I was quite impressed with at the bike show...the Honda NC700X...yes, it looks like the CrossRunner that we had last year, but it is more utility bike than sport tourer...

Candian proposed pricing: $8,990
UK pricing: 5,850

Engine
Parallel twin, liquid cooled, SOHC 8v, 670cc
51Hp@6250rpm, 44lb.ft@4750rpm
4.04L/100kms...14.1L fuel tank

6spd trans, wet multi-plate clutch, chain final drive

Dimensions
Seat Height: 32.7" (830mm)
Wheel base: 60.6" (1540mm)
Rake/trail: 27deg/4.3" (110mm)
Weight: 481lbs (228kg) wet

This bike is meant more for commuting and exploring than impressing your buddies...great fuel efficiency and low emissions were part of the design and engineering direction...and it is quite comfortable...the storage is large enough to fit an XL full face helmet...I was totally impressed!!

I just think it would be a cool beginner bike, or commuter...not just a cool bike, I don't think that is what it is supposed to be...

Later.

That indeed was the model I was planning for today (based on your suggest), but Victory will be announing a new model to the media today and I'm expecting it to be something like a "sportster" or "XR1200" model... should be interesting... but it won't be until a little later today the annoucement and getting the Friday Cool Wall bike up.

That aside, I do plan on having the Honda NC700X next. :D

Don't know if it's been done yet, but I'd like to see our take on the Hyosung GV650.

How about an older bike...before Eric Buell made his marque using Harley's as a base, others had the same theme...V twin in a sporty chassis...

1991 Suzuki VX800

I always wanted one of these bikes...loved the look of them...the basic drive train (including the shaft drive) is currently in the Suzuki Boulevard M50.
