Agreed, never "dog" out the person who sleeps next to you. They might fall asleep after, or wake up before you. And you have NO way of knowing what is going to happen in the intervening time.

Well ya might just be able to buy a lot out here for that 200 grand as long as you don't want much. Add a house and ............. Well I think the average house price is just under $600,000 here. Mind you, to get that average they had to include a few of those 10 million dollar homes on the beach that sold last month which means the real average ain't that high, more like $495,000 ha ha ha. What can I say. $200,000 for a house sounds good after checking the market out here

See why I can't afford a new bike.

If I thought I could find a job somewhere else, I'd move too. Even though I have lived in Vancouver my whole life (with the exception of working holiday up north for 5 months), this city has changed so much it is hardly recognizable any more.
And, of course the focus these days is 2010, so the construction going on is crazy. There is so much building that it is almost impossible to find a route through the city that doesn't have flag people and orange cones and lane closures. :x
Consequently, between immigration of wealthy Asians and corporate greed, real estate is out of reach of most regular people.
I'm glad I bought over 6 years ago or I would have to go live in a tent.
The amount of homeless is on the rise and it doesn't yet show signs of slowing.

Well we found a place tonight. Not very big, not a very big town, but it's only 20 minutes to work(at the speed limit...like that's gonna happen) and so cheap it's almost free  . 6 months in there and we may be looking for a 200 grand house in Red Deer.

Well that, and the fact that your government will gladly let me buy it, both our governments will tax both of us up the wazzoo as an International Real Eastate Scheme, and your government will never let me set foot in the country my new house is in and claim it as abondoned property after 5 years, then sell it out from under me....... :frusty:

I think I was better off getting cornholed by the ex.....
