What I like the most about my Harley is that it's a Harley.

*snip*

Oh, and I like being able to say "Yes" every time I'm asked "Is that a Harley". That's just something only a Harley owner can understand.
I think you said it all though it's a bit different for us, women. First of all, you have to put up with the problem with wieght and size is a bit much to handle. Though I have to admit my Sportster seems to know the right path when I get confused. Also, Harley riders are some of the nicest people that you will meet. Though being one of the "guys" has it's disavantages.

One thing you forgot to mention that at least to me, I treat it as a member of the family. It has so much personality and shows those little quirks that you learn to live with. If I can expect that the people are human then my Sportster is a people too.

The look, the sound (aftermarket pipes), the feel of the ride, the solitude, my knees in the breeze...

I voted for the sound because there's nothing like having a pack of Harleys crusing together on an open road.I like everything about my HD although I have owned several other brands and types over the years.I seem to always come back to HD.

Ok, I agree with the wikid sound thing as long as you consider my V&H bigshots help with that...that's as close as I got with the options you laid out.

I never really thought too much about why I love my Harley ('10 Heritage Softail) until you posed the question (in other words, I just do).

As a kid, I always loved the sound and look of old muscle cars. My Heritage reminds me of that for some reason. The sound and look of my HD really gets me every time I ride.

Beyond that, my HD simply fits my personality (easy going, free, don't really care what others think).

HD riders I know don't have egos, don't worry about being trendy, don't worry about social status, plus they're low key and friendly when I meet them at a rally or ride. The kind of folks I'd like to (and HAVE!) have a beer or two with. So, it's not only the bike for me. It's also the people I've met along the way who ride them.

Same here, I could vote for all those reasons to own HD motorcycle. I`m a nostalgic fool and love the old school style of my FL along with the way it feels on the road. The comeradity with other riders out on the road is a brotherhood like no other...all around good times anytime I go for a ride......

I really love the way Harley-Davidson designed the Fat Bob and with the 2013 Candy Orange paint I could stare at it all day long. There is just something really cool about riding a HD and cruising down the strip that words cannot describe.

That has to be the best looking orange flake paint job I've ever seen.

The funny thing is, everytime I have seen a XR1200R, the guy riding it was riding very fast and really leaning into the corners. :kicking:

It's all relative. It depends on your frame of reference.
