my 1st bike was the gixxer1000 K6... i didn't research when i bought my 1st bike. i took it easy, then after a few months, i got cocky and rode over my skill level and crashed. it was a minor crash, damages were cosmetic on the bike and psychological on my part.
then it was stolen last april. rest in pieces Aya.
then last june, i got my 750. i was gonna get a 600 figuring i'd improve faster... but then i went w/ the 750 and now... i even lost the desire to get another RR literbike. im very happy w/ my 750.
and i've been riding for around 8½ months. we're both newbies.

ALSO what is BEST for Canyon riding/cornering?
Best as in all round sportsbike its the gixxer. Its a real sportsbike but has a comfy (relative) ride, more power to 12k rpm than others and does streetriding very well aswell as trackriding.
On track i guess a kwak/r6/gix are very close, depends on taste. r6/kwak being more hardcore.

R6 or CBR if i was getting a 600cc.

I'd say go to your local dealer and sit on all the makes. That's what I did. I was leaning towards an R6 till I sat on it. I didn't fit. Now I'm leaning to the Honda, suzuki and Kawi.

That Daytona is soooo pretty. I was convinced I was going to buy one:inlove:. Until I sat on it.
Too small for my gigantic frame, just like all the other RR bikes out there that don't start with a B and end with a W.

The 600's are all tiny. The liter bikes are much more comfy ergonomically for someone my size, but I wouldn't get an I-4 literbike, as I have no use for the power and poor fuel economy.
In the 600cc bike range, I'd look at a Ducati 749... haha. I know, I know... not quite a 600, but it is lumped in that class.
