As I mentioned on another forum, if you do NOT ride, there are only 2 kinds of motorcycles: Harleys and Ninjas.

but which is more badass, a Ninja or a Pirate?!?
(don't forget to take into account the ratio of global warming to Pirates)

[quote="Fathertork"]The old saying “things are different on a Harley” is true, however I won’t try to explain that here.
I am really not trying to be a smart "O Ring" here, I have never ridden a Harley. I have heard people say this before, and I would like someone to try to explain it to me. I am shopping for my next bike right now and have seen a couple of Harley's that I liked, but of course they are more expensive. I am having a blast right now riding a Honda, but am a relatively new rider. How will things be different if I spend the extra money and invest in a Harley as opposed to say a Honda VTX or Yamaha? All input is welcome.

Me I would go with Pirate as more badass but a Ninja would win in a fight.

I would continue riding your Honda, your having a blast. What else matters.
I have road HD for years because I could not justify the depreciation of the others. As stated in an earlier post, when you can ride a Harley for 8 years and sell it for more than you paid for it....that's not a bad reason right there.
Like everything, that has changed now. I still think they hold thier value relative to all other brands though. Other reasons-Personal and you have to pay the big buck to find out

Go to a dealer, they can show you a few features and offer you a test ride. You aren't just paying for a brand... you're paying for their pension plan.
No I'm kidding. They are definately a different creature entirely. It's like comparing the suzuki Vstrom to a ducati multistrada. Two adventure tourers from two entirely different companies with very different approaches.

I certainly don't care what anybody else rides or think any more or less of them for what they ride. Long as they love & respect their bike and it suits the knid of riding they do, make or model doesn't matter. Besides, it would be pretty boring if everyone rode the same thing.
