I guess hitting the yard sales on a bike saves a guy from dragging home too many large items of interesting junk, eh?

I hate to get all geared up for a 15 minute ride. I have done so, but a typical ride would be a few hours for sure.

No such thing as a typical ride for me, I guess. Just ride when I can for as long as I can. If it's errands, it's errands, if it's 2 hours to go investigate a new place, that's great, if it's an all-day or overnight visit, even better.

As a matter of fact, I'm supposed to be taking propane tanks for exchange right this very minute, along with a weight scale. I guess I'll take the truck. Bummer.

A long ride to me is 225 – 275 miles. I do a couple rides a year this long. Typical ride for enjoyment is 100 miles.

^ 100 miles is about as far as I enjoy riding our Vstar 650, too. My husband, on the other hand, rode it 387 miles Friday, then back yesterday. He was finally noticing a sore butt and aching knees the last hour of the ride home.

For an average Sunday ride with mates in the warmer months, about 8-10 hours including food and tea breaks. About 3-5 hours in the winter.

Lately my typical runs are on I-10 from the east side of Tucson to the west side of Phoenix to visit Grandma in the assisted living community. about 150 miles, so i don't stop until i get out there. then there's usually a day of running various errands or cruising around Phoenix looking for something to do on a Saturday night, then riding back on Sunday. usually do about 400-500 miles a weekend that way, plus my normal trips back and forth to work, to the shop, around town, out cruising, etc, during the week.

i think i might take some time this summer and ride up to visit Michigan to visit my family. not sure if i'll actually ride the bike the whole way or just put it on a trailer so that i can ride with my brothers while i'm there.

It really depends on the riding I am doing. I did 250 miles today pre-riding a group ride we will be doing and I am exhausted because it was all mountain roads and twisties and we were cooking pretty good through most of it actually tore up the side walls of my tires pretty good today but it was actually pretty warm today and I have soft tires so it's no great feet of motorcycling just tiring but in a very good way. If I am riding in NYC I can't take 2 hours of it, If I am touring 500 miles a day is possible for me but thats about my limit on nice sweepy byways

About 120 mi a day / 60 miles per seat time. - at least on days that I am commuting. I don't really get days with non-commute rides - except today when I rode to the doctor and had an abortive attempt to get a picture of my bike with a hot dog truck that turned out wasn't there. Maybe tomorrow I can get the pic.
