Funny enough, I did sit on one of those in the Harley-Davidson showroom after I took out a Fat Bob for a test ride. It's kinda unfortunate that Sportsters are not designed for tall riders, I did like the 883R and 1200 Sport they had.

But no, it's not a Sporty. :D

Hmmm, since mrtotalmotorcycle's got the height for it, a GS Adventure would be a cool choice. 300+ miles in between fill ups would be perfect for the great state of Texas.

Just can't see him on a big block cruiser. So a road bike for sure.

Hehe - he might be getting old - but not THAT old. Even Hitler preferred his VFR over a BMW.... :P

I assume you get that reference....

Yes I have seen the Vid,

and in SA we are only considered old when we come back from hunting with nothing, and only then when you are battered and bloody because you ran out of ammunition and had to hunt with your bare hands :kicking: :shooting:

UPDATE:

Sorry for the delay, I really couldn't post on Friday as after we looked at the bike we had a house party to go to that was on our way back from the 10 hour round trip to see the bike.

So, for those interested in what bike I looked at, Ryan and John got it right (but High_Side just nailed it with the year and color!), it was indeed a ZRX1200R!

I did take it for quite a spin and loved the power of the bike and the looks are just awesome, but in the end, the this bike just wasn't for me so I had to pass. It's a shame as I did expect it to be in my garage right now.

Oh well, more fish in the sea!

Here are some photos of it:
