I agree with imp on that, tinkering is fun, and it's alot easier on older vehicles.

But I think the reason older cars are so desireable is that they look solid, and reliable. Big steel bodies that look like they're as strong as a rock.

I think it has to to with the rarity as well.. older cars are simply harder to get which means more people appreciate it when they see them. Who doesnt stare when you see something out of the ordinary.

Man, they're bada$$! I want 10. They're sleek, they're fast, they're pretty.
A dog had his chain reduced one link at a time, every few days, until his chain was so short he could barely move. He never resisted because he was conditioned to the loss of his freedom slowly, over time. Are we in this country becoming like the dog?

That is a really nice classic muscle car. I've always thought about owning one of the 1960's vintage then I hear stories on how much time, effort and cost it takes to keep them going... Options?

I was lucky enough to rent a Dodge Challenger for 14 days in the summer and that was a real blast to drive.

I have a few more photos of it in the Photo Gallery here.

any 60s muscle car is badass, but why not go with the GTO of GTOs.

The judge is nice, but there is just something special about the '66.

Mike, any 60's muscle car is gonna cost you an arm and a leg in gas these days. Time and effort, well I guess that depends on how much $ you got to spend on the front end. If it's a lot, then you can get one that is running and looks great. Not a lot and you're putting a lot of time and effort ( and cash ) restoring it. A decent GTO of the 60's vintage will run ya $30k. A tricked out fancied up one $50k. A "fixer upper" I've seen for ~ $15k.

You'll prolly get the same for any make/model of old muscle car. Some options are like you suggested, the new re issues of the old ones. They are cool, but to me, they just aren't the same. I mean, they don't have carbs man. :)

Well, actually the GTO of GTO's is a Ferrari, they were first. But at Image who can afford one, much less drive it.Image

Here is a pic of my toy, Enzo Ferrari stated this was the most beautiful car ever made and would never be eclipsed, and this about his biggest rival at Le Mans.
