riding must be a constant source of anxiety for you, with all the worry about how you look rather than enjoying the riding experiance.
you really are missing out on all that it is to "live to ride"
anxiety?
sometimes i am. im worried when i don't feel like im improving and getting faster. but lately, i feel im constantly improving. so it's been good so far.
about enjoying the riding experience... im all about it. i just use my bike for joy rides. it's a recreational thing for me. riding on the canyons gives me lots of fun.

no probs
I was just thinking it would be a shame to get all caught up on "how we look" rather than how much fun can be had just learning and riding

I dont know. I am just starting out so take my words with a grain of salt. But I dont have a need to move around all that much on my bike. I keep my weight near the rear of the seat when I am hitting the curves. I just try to lean the bike and let it do all the work.
Ok Verm, first things first. Don't ever shoot a closeup of your butt like that again.
Now, I didn't watch but 10-15 seconds into the vid as the perspective was extremely disturbing and quite annoying.
Next, you don't need to be hanging off the bike like that. If you aren't going fast enough to lean the bike over, you have no reason to hang off like that. The whole point of leaning into a turn is to capitolize on the gyroscopic effect of the bike wanting to stand upright, allowing the bike to lean over and corner better.
You're not doing anything by leaning off the bike like you are except being an "icey hot stunta".
Yes, I realize you say it helps you get faster and better. What I think it is is the placebo affect of you just getting use to riding the bike in general. You getting "faster" (has that even been properly measured?) is smoother shifts and acceleration and being comfortable on the bike. Do I think you have some improvements on riding the bike? Sure. But I really don't think the gymnastics your doing on the seat is necessary for you to ride to the same level you are. I do think you've got it so far ground into your head that hanging off the bike like you are is a crutch. Its like learning the technique to shoot a proper free throw. A person can shoot mechanically wrong and have average-low shooting percentage. But you get the technique and proper mechanics, shooting percentage goes up. Don't be like Shaq and never learn to shoot a free throw.
