But the truck is almost to the ground when he puts the bike in it. If you can't do it that way then you are going to want extra help. One person on each side of the bike in case you lose your footing and one behind the bike to help push. Do not ride the bike up the ramps you will get hurt. No one needs to be in the truck when you do this to guide it because you will have one person on each side of the bike that will guide it. Most bikes will not fit all the way in the back without be in the on a diagonal. Please be careful. Good luck.

only woosie trucks have short beds that wont fit a bike . also whats the fun in walking a bike up? More fun just to ride it up. we actually used to do that with 4 wheelers/3 wheelers/and dirt bikes on my dads trailer. Just ride it up. I mean do you honestly look at those who trailer their vehicles (like my dad now trailers his jeep to take to the sand dunes). You think they are gonna "walk" that up? granted its 4 wheels but you have just as much chance falling off the ramps as you do a bike.

That is true. We have a trailer now though. That is just how he use to do it. It is too cold outside now to ride anyways. So the bike is put away for the year. Not all bikes fit in the back of pickup trucks. No it is not a short bed pickup either. He just has a long bike. You have to turn the front wheel to the side for it to fit. He has a 2003 volusia classic anniversary edition. It fits now without a problem because he redid the body on it and it looks totally different than it did.

Aye, she is a great bike when running....but for now she is an over glorified paper weight.......

the times I have have to load a bike I have had a friend and we just lifted the thing up, once was a cbr600rr into the bed of my pretty low 2wd truck to rescue my friend, who rode the bike with his feet firmly planted against the sides of the bed to keep it upright, since we didnt have straps. another was a modified choppered rotax into a uhaul that we spiderwebbed into it, actually we kinda went a little overboard with like 200' of rope attaching to just about everything around the trailer and bike and the rope itself, it was fun, and that bike wouldnt have gone anywhere, ever. then there was his next bike, several times in and out of his shed and a trailer, thats a 69 bonneville/tritan/chopper, and weighs not too much more than me. we've also lifted my SV650 into and out of his shed several times, sometimes we use a short ramp, not always, we're not weak and if you just get the front wheel up, then have some stead it while the other gets up to the higher level and holds the bars you can lift the rear up while he pulls. but I guess our bikes are kinda on the lightweight side, probably wouldnt work with a honda valkarie rune or a wing or any hog

If you said what broke, I missed it.......... did you discover what's causing it to short out?

Ayup and got the bill today as well....ttfn C$890 plus change.

One of my UCI's along with turn signal self-canceler fried out and melted, this in turn cause part of my wiring harness to overheat and melt the insulation and cooked one of my ignition coils Also, some twit had the battery sensor lead wire up to the positive terminal instead of the negative terminal.

So, ttfn C$890 plus change, for a repaired harness, by-passed signal canceler, used UCI box and ignition coil. Also got the oil and filter changed while in the shop and just waiting to get the after market turn signals and signal canceler. She is fixed and ridable, but may as well get all the work done now while it is in the shop.

OUCH is what I say. Glad I do as much of my own work as possible.....
