I think biking should be about how it makes you feel personally, not the effect you are having on people you don't know and probably never will.

A friend of mine and I are planning to take a trip together and travel all around England visiting all our friends that have gone to Uni. (we are a little behind on the education front, (not that we are dumb or anything  )). That's the kind of thing I look forward to doing when I finally get my bike.

As for tassles and gear that sports any number of macho claims, I think that if it makes the wearer feel better, good for them. It might not always be a matter of weather or not they are trying to impress other people.

I quite like the way tassles fly in the wind, but i'm not allowed to admit that near my g/fs father

Well, I've known Hell Angels, Hessians, and Banditos just to name a couple. They were like other people some were ok some were Aholes.
I don't like the politics of most of the clubs. I had a couple of clubs attempt to recruit me but at the time I was 40 and way too old to "prospect" and to be taking orders from someone just to "prove my loyalty".
I became a member of a small club because they didn't have the normal politics and they wanted me just as I was, that's why they asked me, plus the only rule was "No heat on the Colors".

I've ridden Harleys, Triumphs, and a variety of japanese bikes and it's not what you ride it's how you live your life to ride.

I like Hunter S. Thompson, but I think he was off a little on this one. I get the feeling he was directing his comments at "harley riders". And in this day and age, most harley riders aren't trying to look like "outlaws". Sure, we're trying to look cool, and there is certainly a feeling like you "belong" when you ride a harley while wearing your harley shirt and do-rag. Maybe it is a bit poser-ish, but we're having fun, and riding the hell out of our bikes!

1. rum diaries is my fav as well...i wish i could live like that.

2. im a poser. every since i got into punk rock ive been a poser. and everyone is. nobody is as tuff as they pretend to be...except that guy from Ong Bok. hes the tuffest mother ive ever seen.

3. i think trailering a dirt bike is different then trailering your road king.

4. my club takes anybody from anywhere they just prefer your bike is flatblack. but its not a requirement. and our patches are defiant. its great.
