Re: What did you do today...
That is really a shame there with the car dealership experiences. I've heard they "size-up" a customer once they see you on the lot before coming to talk to you. Strange no one bothered once you came into the showroom, they usually jump all over you there.blues2cruise wrote:I went to Langley after work today.
I went to a Ford dealer to look at new vehicles. I spent a good deal of time outside on the lot and inside the showroom. I even sat in one of the vehicles......NOT ONE PERSON ACKNOWLEDGED ME.
Then I went next door to the Mitsubishi dealer.....again.....nobody came to ask if I wanted help.
Then I went to the Kia dealer.....nobody could be bothered.....
Then I went around the block to the used car dealer.....same....
I think I will go back to Metrotown Mitsubishi where I not only got acknowledged, I got my questions answered, a test drive and a follow up phone call.......guess who is getting my business.....
I had flashbacks of when I bought my first motorcycle.....
I don't know whether they are just lazy or they think a middle aged woman wouldn't be buying a new vehicle or what......new cars must be flying out of the showroom that they don't need a sale.
I'll be making my choice in the next week or two.
WTG Metrotown Mitsubishi.
What used cars where you considering?

That is exactly why I wont go to a dealership unless it is after hours or I already know what I want. I get HOUNDED everytime I step foot on a lot and especially since they usually see me NOT looking at the cheapest vehicle on the lot. Course I have to look for something that fits at least 6 people and preferably 8 people.

Re: What did you do today...
Motorcycle dealerships do the same thing. That's why the first bike I bought in 2005 was a Triumph, not a Honda or Yamaha. Newly licensed rider, stood there in the Honda/Yamaha showroom for 25 minutes, with 8 grand in my pocket, obviously very interested in bikes. Salesjerk was too fascinated with talking with his friends on the phone (obviously not a business conversation) and rearranging the ATV's outside to acknowledge me. The next day I took my money to the other dealership in town and bought a Triumph.totalmotorcycle wrote:That is really a shame there with the car dealership experiences. Mike and JS...it was similar when I bought my first motorcycle. I was not taken seriously until I met the salesman Patrick at Pacific.
I went back to Metrotown Mitsubishi to have another look......I should be picking it up on Saturday.

Re: What did you do today...
Nice car! They have had them here in the UK and I've been seeing them on the road and in the Mitsubishi dealership (at the end of my road) for the past year and a bit. I have looked at buying one back in Canada too myself, you will have to tell me your impressions of it.blues2cruise wrote:Mike and JS...it was similar when I bought my first motorcycle. The thing with it here that kills me about it is it gets better gas milage they do in North America with nearly the same engine. Why didn't they import THAT engine into North America?? argh.
http://www.mitsubishi-motors.ca/en/vehi ... 011/specs/
Engine type 2.0L MIVEC I-4
5MT - City 8.7 L/100kms
5MT - Highway 6.4 L/100kms
5MT - Combined 7.6 L/100kms
http://www.mitsubishi-cars.co.uk/asx/sp ... ariant=PB3
Engine type 1.6L 16 Valve inline 4 cylinder, DOHC MIVEC ECI-Multi -
Urban mode lts/100km (mpg) 7.5 (37.7)
Extra urban mode lts/100km (mpg) 4.9 (57.6)
Combined mode lts/100km (mpg) 5.9 (47.9)
On the other side of the coin, it's cheaper in Canada (Starting at $21,998.00) than the UK (£18,599.00+)
Too much information right?? haha.

Woke up in my own bed, in my own apartment. The significant other kicked me out last night.
