The thing is that the newer Intel processors can run Photoshop much quicker as well combined with more RAM. For Photoshop 2GB is good and 4GB is the best since it is a resource intensive program. Discrete/ add-on graphics cards can also speed up photoshop as well as movie editing and maybe more stuff in the future. PCs from Best Buy are pretty cheap and come with 3GB of RAM and a good Core 2 Duo or Quad Core.blues2cruise wrote:Being debt free is more important than the latest and greatest. We learn to like what we have. I like my computer...it is just inadequate but the extra memory should solve it.
I generally use things until they really don't work anymore or they have outlived their usefulness.
As for me I have 2GB in my MacBook, 2GB in my desktop and both are running Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2GHz. I added a nVidia GeForce 8800GT and life is good, I can do stuff from CAD to gaming as well as stuff for my Forensic studies. Now if The Sarah Connor Chronicles are true I must destroy my computer in the near future... it's getting more powerful each time.
