07 models are 96 cubic inches, you will no longer have to stroke your motor to get 103 inches, a change to 103 inch cylinders and pistons are all that is needed. the primery chain adjuster is hydrolic (no need for adjustment), oil lines are now hidden and are not exposed, the crankshaft, rods, pistons , and cams are made of a new lightweight material to allow for smoother running and faster rpm's. The new motors are called TC96 and TC96B for softails.

Good banter and flame at a minimum. Good for me because I like all bikes but ride my HD most.

..........I don't mind the "tricycle" thing but being a real surfer
- not a keyboard surfer........... "SQUID" is about the worst
thing to be labeled.......guess I'll have to actually participate
to get rid of that :frusty:

good..squid thing gone

The new 96" engine sounds great. I've hear a few things about the
5th gear in some of the touring models - noisy until 6th?
If it's true - they'll fix it. I had a 06 WG with the 6 speed and
it had a recall for slipping out of neutral. The dealer was
great - redid the whole thing - gave me a free 1000 service
and replaced everything with syn3 for free.

BTW
If you're in CA - Quaid HD gives the best customer service.

I haven't seen a great deal of discussion about "aftermarket" exhaust systems for Harley Davidson within these forums. And, I know this is somewhat of a late response to a mid-June posting.

However, I'm awaiting the arrival of an '07 FLHTCU Ultra Classic Electra Glide - Firefighter Edition. Since this is my first HD, I'm curious as to the feelings or past experience you all have had with replacing the stock pipes with something else. I hear the word "performance" used in connection with exhaust a great deal. I've also been given advice such as, "you might as well have the dealership swap out the exhaust before you even take it home", etc.

So, not knowing really what I want, and having heard so many pro's and con's about one pipe versus another (probably simply user opinion & preference anyway), I see that HD has several factory alternatives to the stock pipes on their site. But, there is little mention of any "fuel modules" that you often find being sold with other manufacturer pipes, like Vance & Hines, etc.

So, my question is: What should I expect when pricing out my replacement pipes, if I choose to do so? Are there other additions, like the "fuel module" for ALL third party pipes as well as those sold by HD? Or, is there adjustments made by the dealership that replace the need for the additional fuel module?

Thanks for allowing me to pick your brains.
