I thought our prices were high. Gas dropped a bit back to $1.22/litre you are twice that. We just got back from six days with both bikes. Mine is not great on gas (I think I got about 35/Gal US) but that was real slow poking along in the mountains. When I am alone I tend to run a little hotter and sometimes the light comes on pretty early. That is the price I pay to ride a vintage bike that was fast in it's day (XS100 special).Kal wrote:I've been catching the bus as it runs pretty from my door almost to where I work in the last couple of weeks the bus fare has gone up by 50%
So the covers have come off of the GB and as of August I'll be commuting into work on that as it will be significantly cheaper than public transport. Even with petrol prices of £1.20 a litre.
When Petrol hits £1.50 a litre - which looks like being next year - then I'll have to get the CG125 at the back of the garage running again, at 30 miles to the litre it is the only thing that makes sense.
Have you been riding less because of gas prices?

I'm riding more... the bike gets a bit over 40 mpg, and either of the two cars get around 23-26 mpg. (Taurus wagon and Saturn Vue FWD). I get about the same number of miles per tankfull on all the vehicles.
I get to take the fun way to and from work, so I've been taking full advantage of the seat time.

I'm definitely riding more. Car (2000 Passat V6) takes premium and gets 27-28 mpg. Even the V-strom with me whacking the throttle open gets 43 mpg and it takes regular. The Bonneville does even better. My wife's XCountry (650cc single) is getting 69mpg!!!

Amen! It was eighty six cents when I first started driving. You could throw in a few bucks for gas and drive around all night on it.ofblong wrote:wtf gas just dropped to 3.84/gallon today. I think it needs to drop back down to 77 cents/gallon that it was when I first started driving lol.
