Check out this chronicle, from a regular on another forum. She started riding around the same time I did. Started out on a Rebel 250. She regularly does solo trips... her first a two day jaunt to visit family.

She wrecked the purple cruiser "Lola" trying to keep up with other riders. The magnificent paint job is the 'after rebuild' >>sweet looking bike.

Helping to retrieve a newly purchased bike for her husband, she discovered she really liked the sport-tourer seat position (hubby had to find a different bike, Donna claimed it - a Triumph).

Oh what a perfect time to bring this thread back. So far my longest is ~90 miles, but I'm heading from the Bay Area to LA this weekend...500 miles if my bike agrees to it.

I'll be working on bump starts tomorrow during lunch, thanks for the tip coffee_brake (mmm coffee)

Ladies - Longest Ride

Still being a newbie, I was excited that I had ridden 80 miles in one day; although it wasn't a continuous ride.

A friend came up to visit and we rode on a couple of country roads, had lunch, and returned by way of the same route. Refreshed and ready to head out for an afternoon engagement, I decided to skip the auto and take my bike out again. That was an awesome ride-day!

Still a rookie rider. I've done several 150 mile days w/DH but that's it so far. I do ride to work and it's a 100 mile trip, but that's as far as I've gone solo so far. Man, these trips sound awesome... can't wait until I am ready for a road trip!

Just logged my longest single day... 589 miles. 3:30 am to 6:30 pm. (Many stops  )

From Reisterstown, MD via Williamsburg, VA and the Great Dismal Swamp, to Oak Island, NC.

Did you eat at Russell's on Oak Island? Right near the bridge, dirt cheap and GREAT FOOD!

GREAT NEWS!!!!!!! DH and I have been riding every weekend...gaining more experience and now getting used to the new bike. After our 4-hr ride this past weekend he announced he thinks I'm ready for a road trip! Time to start planning.....now I gotta go find the atlas and let the dreams fill my head! I can hardly wait!

That is excellent news. :D

My longest solo/single day trip was down to visit IcyHounds in VA. So from MA to VA the ride was 557 miles. Going down I left at 7:30 and got there around 4:30. Coming back it was actually 613 miles, because I accidently detoured for a while and had to backtrack. I left at 7:30 again, but got home just after 6.

I am hankering for another bike trip but I don't think I'm going to get to take much of one again until the spring. :(

longest ride?

#59 Unread post by shadylady »

We rode down to FLA back in May. My first long ride on my little Honda 750 ACE. I was scared to death, but had an absolute blast. Because of all the riding we did when we got down there, we had ridden over 1350mi. when we got back to the mtns. of North GA.
I put 10k miles on the ACE in about 7 mos. and then bought myself an 08 Harley Road King Classic Aug 1, went to Sturgis, rode 900 mi. in the black hills of sd and I can't stay off it! It is so well balanced and even though it weighs 200+ lbs. more than the Honda did, it handles so much easier. I am addicted and find myself riding more than working, now. Not good.
I thought it was too big for me but I was wrong. You don't hold them up anyway, and the way it handles is awesome!
Nice to find a place where ladies talk about riding. I get some really neat comments from other women. I ride for those who can't!!
When in doubt, RIDE!
