Ok so I was riding my Vespa to school today, and im still in the neighborhood. I was practicing using the brakes, like hit both hard then back off on the back brake. Well I wasnt really paying attention, and i looked up. I noticed i had to turn. Well im sure what happened, but I fell.
It was really wierd, i was like what the hell, how did i fall. So im royally pissed so i just up, and noticed that i slid out on the center line. Dammit i felt so stupid.
My jacket slid up when i fell so i have minor road rash on the hip. The jacket did good, so did my jeans. But what hurting me is my foot, I smashed it a bit when i fell. I got it x rayed and its not broken. But man does it hurt.................. Advil is my new friend.
Also, I am 99% sure i am still getting the ninja 250 for my b-day

kudos for practicing, but you failed to pay attention while practicing which is a dangerous thing (which you found out)
they try and nail it into your brain at the MSF courses to always keep your head up and look where you want to go. You should have seen the turn coming or whatever danger was in your way first.
now, after playing the part of your dad there for a few seconds...when i took the msf course i did pretty much the same thing only it involved going over a pylon at the school. I fixated on the object and braked hard and tried to turn all at once....ouch some road rash on my arm because i didn't have my coat sleeves done up and i was only wearing jeans. totalled the helmet and dislocated a shoulder. so i know that if you are smart, you will learn from this and you will try and keep your head up from now on

Re: Woptey Do
Yeah it's that front brake that did it. I did the same when I first started riding. Braked hard on gravel and the front end just flipped right out before I even knew what happened. Any time you're on a slick surface, no front brake! Or if you absolutely must... use it very very very softly.Mud wrote:So im royally pissed so i just up, and noticed that i slid out on the center line. Dammit i felt so stupid.
Have fun with the ninja. No more crashes!
