To be honest, when I see stunters I am reminded of Darwin. If for some reason you dont mind risking injury and busting up your bike doing stunts of questionable entertainment value, go right ahead. When you break your legs or arms and trash your bike, Ill just call you an idiot and say you deserve it for being so stupid.

You're probably on the wrong forum to be asking those questions. The people who tend to post around here are more interested in going out and having a sweet riding, finding some awsome twisties or just cruising around, then we are doing wheelies and stopppies, and loop the loops.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Ah, "crazy stunts," the repetitive combination of wheelie-stoppie-wheelie-stoppie that all "stuntas" seem to do? Why yes those are an excellent idea. Not only will doing them on a street bike bring you "street cred," but your ratings with the ladies will also rise accordingly! You'll make mad bank since everyone will throw money at you when you're wheeling through that school zone and pulling a stoppie in front of the cop's pig-slow Crown Vic.

Remember not to wear a helmet while doing any of this, buying one just slows you down on your mission to buy a Hayabusa!

So does that make me public enemy number two. :P

When we start talking about stuntz, the one I think of the most is the one where the grab the front brake and twist the throttle and start walking the bike in circles to make smoke. That has to be the most purposless thing I can imagine doing to a bike. But the stoppie is number two - since it is basically accidently stopping too hard, on purpose.

If you want to learn stunts, a dirtbike is the best way by far. Then you can start destroying more expensive streetbikes. Or better yet, stick to dirtbikes and learn to jump. That's the best way to get paid for it, but you spend alot of time dropping 30-50 feet out of the sky. That has repercussions a good bit of the time.

Your not gonna get rich at it though. Very few guys make any money at all, some make a little bit, and a tiny, tiny percentage might make a living at it.

And you WILL get busted up. Alot. It's going to hurt. For a long time. And insurance for stunting injuries is hard to find and costs big $$$. You will spend alot of cash on bikes and repairs, and probably tickets too since most stunters like to do stupid chit on public roads. That's why the public hate them so much. Your best bet is to only do stunts in safe, controlled environments, away from the public. And never on public streets and never, ever, never on the bloody freeway. Those guys aint stunters, they are squids. Stunters do their thing in empty parking lots and other safe places. And if it is not private property, it is still illegal and you can get busted for it, even if your trying to be safe and unobtrusive.
No Witnesses.... :shifty:

Stunts are fun... if you can afford to replace parts you break thats cool go for it... Wanting to do them doesn't make you stupid... everyone has a different opinion of fun... what is the point in going down a snow hill in skis? What is the point in going on a wave with a board... what is the point in riding in dirt on a bicycle? Whatever gets your adrenaline pumping can be fun :) The risk of getting hurt is 1/2 the fun. Of course "extreme sports" are more dangerous and not for anyone...

If you want to do this to make money... you have to be AWESOME to even make a little money.

Ahead of the competition? Who's competing? Sounds like an issue of pencil envy.

If you want to risk your own life and bike, at least do so on a private lot or track. If you do so on a public road, then you're an idiot.
