Just like everyone else on the board I was shocked to hear VermilionX had his bike stolen...so it seemed interesting when I came across this news story about kids in India who were killed in two different incidents while trying to steal motorcycles....

wow.....talk about mob justice!

I didn't stick this in the other thread (up to 27 pages and counting) because the topic had moved onto comething else

Yes.

Long, hard, and racously.

And then I'd steal it for my bike.
Have fun on the open /¦\

It also said in the article that the man had wedged A CELL PHONE between his head and helmet. While I'm sure there's some interesting physics involving the motion of electromagnetic fields that caused the strike, I prefer to think of it as divine retribution.

Anyone trying to ride a bike and talk on a celllphone simultaneously deserved the full wrath of [insert omniscient overlord here].

Just like in the days of 'old' you steel a horse you get 'hanged'.
Same thing now except it's an 'iron horse' that is the subject.

Not great, but it happens. Sitting on top of a big, wet hunk of metal in a thunderstorm increases your chances dramatically. Cars get struck by lightning just as easily, but it never makes news since it's unlikely anyone in the car would be injured. With a motorcycle, the rider's going to take the hit.
