"Best" is quite subjective. If price is no issue, probably BMW's adventure touring gear, or one of Aerostich's jackets.
Are you looking for abrasion protection, impact protection, value for the money, construction quality, or a mix of all of these?

"Best" is a broad term. Who makes the "best" bike? Well, there's cruisers, sportbikes, standards...Who makes the "best" jacket? Well there are some that keep you cool, some that keep you warm, some that keep you dry...some that are well armored and some are not...
Generally I feel that if a company makes their other products well then their textile jackets will probably be good too. I'd personally go with Alpinestars or Tour Master (Cortech). But I'm a bit biased...

You're both correct - very broad question - want good impact and abrasion protection - i'm looking at a textile for warm weather production - if i ride in the fall - i hope i can get a decent leather by then - i've been looking at alpine stars, joe rocket, icon, etc - just wanted to know which offers the best package - would like to stay close to $200.00

I hear nothing but good things about alpinestar, but I've heard joe rockets stitching is a little dicey. Then again I haven't crashed in either so I don't know.
Also when I was looking for gear I found these guys
