Battery charge

Hi, a question. I need to recharge my battery, can I do it with the battery mounted on the bike is a honda cbr 600 f4i?

I'm pretty sure you need a battery charger and your going to have to take it off i beleive.... and place it on a shelf or something.. if its on the ground it like drains ur battery out faster or something...

You can charge it on the bike, but you need a charger that will put out a small current like maybe 2 amp charge.It is best to have your ignition shut off. Be sure your water level in battery is up to level.

Yes , you can charge it while it is still in the bike .

welcome...there are even some chargers out there that you can permanently affix to the battery so you can just hook up the "trickle" charger with a quick connect.

Secondly, I agree with everyone else. I purchased my '02 F4i and had to charge the battery and was easily able to do so with the battery still attached and inside the bike.

Yup, as everybody else has said, you can charge the battery while it's still mounted in the bike, however I would reccomend disconnecting one of the cables first... (just been a habit of mine for a while!)

I don't want to make this sound like an endorsment, but I have used a "Battery Tender Junior" for years. Like someone said here earlier, a connector is attached to the battery and all you have to do is plug in the charger when your not going to be using the bike for awhile. DONT use a automobile charger. To be brief, to much current.

I also use a quick disconnect that can be routed outside of the battery box and out under the seat. It gets retracted back under the seat during the riding season.
I am a bit concerned with your situation, You shouldn't need to charge the battery throughout the season if you ride at least once a week. I ride everyday for about 50 miles at a time. Riding this far gives the alternator more than enough time to full supply the batt with enough amps and volts to keep it topped off.
If you are running out of juice, I would highly recommend one of the other members suggestion and ensure your water (distilled) levels are full in the battery.
Another good suggestion is take the moto to AutoZone. AutoZone? Yes, AutoZone. They will test your battery for free, to include water density testing. They can tell you whether or not your battery have had it.
Just a suggestion...
