Hey ALL!
Hey ALL!
Hey everybody, I just joined this forum and I have been riding since January on a '91 250cc Honda Nighthawk. I'm really into riding and I've put on about 1200 miles on my bike; practicing about an hour or two everyday after school. My brother gives me pointers sometimes since he's been riding for about 12 years. Just wanted to introduce myself and hopefully learn a lot of good stuff.

Practice Schedule
Well there's gonna be rain for about a few hours tonight, but it's gonna clear up by Tuesday, so I was looking to get back on track with my practices, as opposed to just going out and trying to max out speed on curves as I have been doing lately. I remember when I first started out I would practice my figure 8s and my tight U-turns and rolling stops. I'm probably gonna get back to the tight U-turns and maximum braking. Anyone got any tips on anything else I should be practicing?

Swerves (to avoid an obstacle), slalom, rapid stops, turns while moving (10 to 15mph), turns from a stopped position (simulate turning onto a new road from stop light, etc.) and the u-turns like you already mentioned. My owners manual actually has all these in a safety section with distances mapped out. You might be able to find drills listed on one of the Safety Websites in my signature.
