QUAD breaking down on acceleration

#1 Unread post by simso »

Hey guys, my dad bought a new quad its a chinese atv hs250st, and it has a problem. On acceleration in gear it goes okay for a little while then it will hickup and miss like a clutch slipping then it constantly keeps doing it, if you take it out of gear it revs no probl;ems and doesnt miss but under load it does. Hes taken it into town and the local mechanice not bike cant figure it out. Where do I start any help is appreciated

if its a belt drive ATV the belt is slipping, did it start slipping when you got it wet?

Thanks for the replys guys, Ive no idea if its a belt drive or not, dad purchased it from an online seller new and it came with no instructions, manul, ect tried to recontact the seller and they just ignore the emails. They shipped it to him and there place of business is about 1300kms away. The local bike sales repair shop wont even look at it because dad bought it from outside of town, local country mentallity next decent size town is about 300kms away. He said it didnt get wet but its more of a jerking than a miss firing under load as he said it fells like like your clutch starting it, so Im curious if it is a belt drive. The original manufacturer is in china so god only knows. If any ones got any more info it would be appreciated
Thanks Steve

Ps this is a link to the actual bike from its manufacturer
