air filters

hi just turned 13 so bought a scram cheap 1 problem it has no air filter what will happen if i ride my bike without an air filter will it overheat the bike is air cooled
could i try and use one from an old vacum cleaner just until i get a propper one

The bike wont overheat but it WILL ingest dirt, grime, small kittens, etc into the cylinders which is very bad for engines. Definitely put a proper filter on there. :D

Bad idea. As stratus points out, your engine will be sucking in whatever happens to get near the airbox. I'm not sure what a "scram" is, but if its a piston powered motorcycle, running without the air cleaner will likely cause your mixture to run too lean. If it runs at all, your combustion temperatures will be hotter than normal. This might not guarantee that you overheat, but it will be bad for the valves to run it like that continuously.
