I've got a Ninja 1997 ZX-7R and i've been having a few problems with it while its driving. in idle, after i first start it, it runs great. once i start moving, i try to accelerate and it takes a second to kick in. it feels like the engine isn't getting fuel. after steadily applying more throttle, it kicks in instantly and the bike takes off, but after i slow down, it starts all over again. sometimes after driving from light to light it cuts out while i'm slowing down and shifting out of gears to stop for the stoplight. I'm thinking i need to clean and service the carbs, anything else i need to do? suggestions?
You should check the gas tank for rusting. If it is, thats how your carb is getting junked. Not sure about your bike, but might wanna get a new fuel filter?
If you do dissasemble the carb and clean the valves (not very hard, just a lil time consuming), you'll need to readjust the choke, too.
Checking the air filter might help as well.
Sorry i get ana sometimes and go nuts.
OOh checj idle speed and make sure the bike is warmed up, too.
Methinks thats about it.
Lenny: Hey George I want a dog.
George: Shut up Lenny, you're too stupid for a dog.
Lenny: At least I'm not an @ssoff.
