My starter was grinding. I replaed the starter clutch and the bike turns over great. While trying to start, I asumed it was flooded becaus it would not go. I choked the carbs manually and it oferred almost immediately as it usually does. The problem is that as soon as it fires, the motor dies .... it's as if it can't spin quickly ... I hear a clunk and it stops.
What could it be? I know it's to do with the secondary shaft as it's the only thing that has changed . It DID start before if I pushed it.

There's some guys with KZ's who might be more knowlagable about this, but it sounds like the new gear is contacting something internal. Either it is the wrong part or was not put together right, one missed or in-the-wrong-spot washer can throw everything out to lunch.....
