Tire cleaner - not for motorcycles.
I dont have the bottle handy, so I dont know the exact name of this product. (I'll post it if it will make a difference). I was at Canadian Tire today picking up chrome polish and other odds and ends. I bought this stuff thats is supposed to clean tires. You spray it on (aerosol) and then leave it for a few minutes, and its supposed to clean the tires. Anyway, I went to break it out and as I was about to use it I noticed on the can it says "Do not use on motorcycle, bicycle, or other 2 wheeled vehicles." Why the heck not? What could it possibly do to a bike tire that it wouldn't do to a car tire? Anyone know?

car tires are so wide that the polish/cleaner comes off quickly. Bikes are a lot narrower....slippery and narrow...not a good combinationv

Cars don't use the sidewalls for traction, bikes do.buddhacide wrote:Wouldn't that be as bad for car tires?
Consider yourself smart for reading the label. I can't even remember how many times I've heard about someone crashing their bike after putting shiny tire goop on their tires.
Before you go and spend any more money, forget about stuff that will make your seat all pretty and shiny too. You'll slide off the back of the bike and it'll go on without you.
