I was riding parallel to the railroad tracks for miles and I was listening to:
1. Theory of a Deadman - Me & My Girl.
2. Theory of a Deadman - Santa Monica
3. Three Days Grace - Gone Forever
4. John Frusciante - Dissolve
5. Limp Bizkit - Lonely World
Then I stumbled into a small town filled with cruisers near bars with this playing:
Kasabian - Club Foot
When stopped at an oversight:
Metallica - Unforgiven II
Then I hit the road again starting with Metallica - I Disappear
Hows that for riding with an attitude.
Then after thinking about this girl I used to know I hear Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams (while making plans to go to Springfield, MA where she is)

One thing you can count on: You push a man too far, and sooner or later he'll start pushing back.

If you want a REALLY out of the way route to get there, shoot up to albany, take (i think) 7 towards Grafton, NY and keep going on rt 2 over the mountain into western MA to a town called greenfield. Then hop on I-91 in greenfield and go south, you'll be in Springfield in about 45-50 mins on I-91. The trip over the mountain on rt 2 is nice and twistie and quite scenic.JCViper528 wrote:Then after thinking about this girl I used to know I hear Green Day's Boulevard of Broken Dreams (while making plans to go to Springfield, MA where she is)

If your going to Springfield, MA from NYC be sure to avoid I-95 in Conn at all costs especially on the weekend.
Go north from NYC to Brewster, NY and go east on I-84 in Conn goes all the way to Hartford. I'm sure you know the way from there.
Alternatively, if you are looking for a nicer ride. Go over the George Wash bridge and hook up with the Hutchinson Parkway. (Should be 1st or 2nd exit after the bridge). Follow the Hutch to the Merritt Parkway in Conn. The Merritt is an excellent road for bikes. If you never been there take it easy tho. Theres some serious turns on it and a steel deck bridge in Milford.
The Merritt is route 5/15 and if you follow it to the end it will bring you to I-91 in Hartford.
Fun facts about the Merritt. Commercial traffic is banned, so you won't see any trucks. The Merritt is on the National Register of Historic Places.
If you ever played the old arcade game "Out Run" one of the tracks on that game looks just like the Merritt.
Have fun. Us tri-state members should do a hook up sometime this summer.
