I don't know if anyone on this forum is familiar with the old XS650 Yamahas that were made from 1970 thru 1983, but if you are not familiar, they are a fun bike to ride. They are a 650cc vertical twin engine with tons of low and mid range torque, they are not bullets, but they are not slugs either. The old bikes are plentyful, easy to work on and there are a ton of aftermarket parts available. I have been working and restoring on these old bikes for years. Here are a couple of my old XS650 Yamahas: http://www.phpbbcommunity.com/rideohio ... ?pic_id=30

I thought about a cafe or tracker, but there are a lot of them out there. I like the original bikes.

That second XS is gorgeous. It's pre-1980 right? The other one is damn nice as well. I wouldn't touch them a bit. They are perfect how they sit. :D

The first one is a 1981 XS650H, the second one is a 1977 XS650D. Both are factory original. XS

The 77D was not too bad, it sat for about 15 years after the owner passed away, it had 7,100 miles on the clock. I spent one whole winter taking it down and polishing every square inch of it. I took every precaution to make sure it was 100% original when it went back together. Thanks for the compliment ! XS

That '77 is gorgeous.

I ride a '79 XS650F. All stock, mostly original parts. It's starting to get pretty tired, really...it's getting older, and I'm getting heavier!
