Where to put old fluids?

I just changed the brake fluid and did an oil change, pretty fun for a first time. I was thinking about bringing it to a mechanic place to drop, and I was wondering what do you guys do with old oil and brake fluid? On a side note, the oil change took longer to do than the breaks, which surpised me. When I first tried to bleed the brakes, no fluid was coming out, and I was like :frusty: :frusty: :frusty: . Than I read the manual again and saw that I had to open the valve, which made everything so much easier  . Oil change was easier but the drain bolt and bolt that holds oil filter were really stuck on there, but nothing a little WD-40 couldn't take care of 8) .

A bunch of places now take waste oil...pep boys and the like... but it's such a pain in the "O Ring" (they want your license #, yadda yadda yadda) so you should probably just leave it on the neighbor's driveway after he leaves for work.
Ride it like you think owning it matters.

I use to just pour it down the kitchen sink.

Kidding, I saw that on King of Hill once. Anyhow, many auto parts stores, walmarts and car garages have a used oil dump. So, justfind a place near you and ask if they do. Many do and its free of charge (though they require you to take back your oil container rather than leave it there).

I've taken my used oil to walmart, base garage, schucks auto parts store. So, just check around.

Poor it on the railroad tracks or on those good tight corners that people come up to too quickly.

Pep Boys, Auto Zone and the like should accept the old oil. My local trash dump facility accepts old oil, batteries and coolant.

I think it's federal law that wherever new oil is sold, you can freely dump old oil. (Within a certain amount - you can't dump 50 gallons off.) If you are storing old oil Cuz you are too lazy to return the oil on the same day , like me ... , use either an oil-specific container (Like the bottles the new oil came in) or a glass container. DO NOT use Food-Grade plastics (Like soda or milk bottles) the oil will eat thru them.

around here the local trash dump has a special waste oil/fluids container.

...or the neighbors yard.
