GT 550 Electrical

#1 Unread post by Burdock »

I have a 1975 Suzuki GT 550 that I am trying to restore. The wiring harness on it was pretty messed up but I believe that I have it back in working order, although it can be hard to tell when dealing with electrical stuff. The problem I am having now is that when everything is hooked up, including a battery, and the ignition is turned on, I turn the engine over via kick start and get no spart at the spark plugs. Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try?

I am sure that I can get an OEM wiring harness but im sure that everyone here knows that OEM parts are terribly expensive. I would like to avoid that if i can. I think I might also be able to find a used one on ebay or somewhere...but then again you never know what you are getting when you buy used electrical parts. Im thinking that I will try to get it to work and if all else fails I will break down and get a new one.
