I'm new to motorcycling, and thinking about getting a dual-sport. The Suzuki DR200, and Yamaha XT225 are OK, maybe a little small. On the other hand, the new Kawasaki KLX250S seems a bit too tall (seat height = 34.8 in.). However, I've noticed that Kawasaki still sells a Super Sherpa model in Canada with a seat height that's a more reasonable 32.5in. It appears to have the same basic engine block as the KLX, but has a different compression ratio, different carb, etc.
Does anyone know if it's feasible to buy a Super Sherpa in Canada and bring it down to the 'States. Would there be emissions regulation issues, not to mention maintenance challenges, or would the local Kawaski dealer be able to service the bike?
Thanks in advance.
