I am looking for a smaller rear sprocket for my GS. I just want to give it alittle more pick up. Any ideas where I could find one.

Ok mybad. :frusty: I am looking to give it alittle more pick up. I am not one for top speed. I just want it to be able to shoot out of corners or off the line.

smaller front sprocket or bigger rear sprocket will give you better acceleration at the expense of top speed.

Smaller front sprocket is way to go on the GS500, most just change the 16T front to a 15T although a few have gone to a 14T front. You can order one from Chaparral or Dennis Kirk or most anywhere. I order chains from Chaparral and get a front sprocket with the chain.

If you only need the sprocket, you can probably do just as well at the dealers. It's only a $12-20 item and adding $6 for shipping for a online order makes it just as cheap at dealer. Mosr dealers will order aftermarket sprockets in sizes you want.

I put the 15T on my 97 GS and it was an improvement, little better pick-up but most noticble was starting on uphills was much easier. I'm a bit on the heavy side. Didn't figure I needed one on the 02 GS, it's much better stock than the 97 was.
