After reading so much about the Patriot Guard Riders

http://patriotguard.org/Home/tabid/53/Default.aspx

I finally checked out their site. I immediately signed up. What a great cause and a wonderful excuse for a ride (not that I need an excuse to ride). I understand that it is a very moving experience to be on a “Mission” and although I do not look forward to another death, I do look forward to doing my duty.

Now is the best time for my generation to be able to do what they can for their country.

Cheers

Fred Phelps is the reason the PGR exists. His Westboro Baptist Church travels around the country protesting military funerals because, in their "messed" up little world, God is punishing America for the acceptance of homosexuality (e.g. gays in the military) by killing our troops in Iraq and elsewhere. The dude's a first-rate douchebag.

Ok, that’s clears things up and is the very reason I joined. I saw a funeral here in Oceanside (Camp Pendleton) and it drove me nuts that it was being so bastardized by protesters. I guess they did not have the PGR there and at the time I did not know of anything i could do to help. :frusty: I won’t get into my politics, but when a man/woman lays dead for their country, I think they have the right to a peaceful funeral.

Thanks for the info and thumbs up to you.

Cheers

See, that's what I dig about the PGR. They keep the political BS off their website and away from what they do. It's all about respect.

I'm a PGR member here in Texas too. Like you said... it's a great cause.

You have just inspired me to join up. My Grandfather was in WWII and two of my great uncle's died in Korea. I could not agree with the cause any more. Ride on!

I am glad to hear that. They need the support and our troops do too.

Thank you.
