what are the requirements for a bike to be considered a supermoto?

and is it the same as a supermotard?

Interesting video there Verm.. might want to fix your link.
Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

Yes, it's the same thing. Supermotard is foreign-speak. French, to the best of my knowledge.

I don't know if it's just me, but supermotard sounds like something you would call someone you don't like. Not a name for a bike.

Everytime i hear it i get this mental image of a guy with a really bad complexion, waving a lightsaber made from a flourescent light around at the cat.

Motard is the French word for motorcyclist. I'm sure it sounds about as funny to you as moto does to them. Moto is the French word for "bundt cake". So we're running around talking about "Super Bundt Cake" in their view.

I REALLY hope nobody actually believed that...

is this accurate?
http://www.motorbikes.be/en/Suzuki_DR_200_SE_2004.aspx

i find it hard to believe it has 40bhp.

anyway... is that bike capable of drifting like a supermoto?

if it can... that might be a 2nd bike(as in 2 bikes at the same time) for me.

i'll use it as a commuter, for drifting fun, and dirt riding.
