Hi all. I'm an "invincible" 19 year-old who has about 8 years of riding experience on the dirt (some great experiences, and a few pretty hairy ones 8). I've always thought about getting a streetbike, but only now have I started realistically getting into it and researching in-depth. I can't wait to be a proud owner of an on-road 2-wheeler...just a little longer and it will be a reality. I'm just hoping that I will someday be able to say all my accidents happened off road! :frusty: ...but only time will tell I guess.

Welcome aboard Maverick! Sounds like you've had some fun off-road. Some tips for road-riding - Noone else on the road with you will see you. You should ride as though you're invisible. An excellent way to prepare yourself for road-riding is to go through the MSF basic rider course. A couple of other up-sides are successful completion of the course may save you a bit on your insurance (depending on which insurance company you choose) and in most, or all states - completion of the course allows you to waive the state DMV skills test in order to get you license. Just show them the certificate, pass the written and you're good to go!

If you're looking for suggestions for good beginner bikes, check out this thread.

Keep us posted on your journey to becoming a road rider!
