A lady walking her dog this A.M....

I come out of the group of houses out on to the main drag here to find some lady with a husky taking a walk. Normally this would be no big deal but for some reason the lady was walking with the leash in her hand... but the other end was not attached to the husky.

Husky looks at me... I look back at the husky.

The husky then runs across the street. The lady is looking at me and probably silently cursing me under her breath as she stands on the sidewalk waiting for traffic to clear so she can go to the other side of the street to retrieve her husky who is busy marking his territory. He glances at me as I pull out and then his mistress runs across the street.

Whats the point of having a leash if you aren't going to use it? I walk my 70+ pound german shepherd around a few blocks and he always stays on a leash and has his pinchy collar on. I can only hope that for just one day, one day, no one does something stupid. I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for it though.

Oh well, at least I can be partially glad the husky didn't come after me when I was stopped.

so the other day, i was riding my bike and i saw this chipmonk. He crossed the road about 100 feet ahead of me, and he looked like he might of been oonstipated because he walked like he was holding a pencil in his butt.

Arent chipmonks funny?

Wait, is this a motorcycle site?

There is probably a law requiring pets to be on leashes... and the woman can just clip the leash onto the collar if she sees a cop or has an issue or something.

There was a woman down the street who used to wait on it to rain, put on a tight white t-shirt and walk her little rat-dog in the summer on my street.

also. i ride a motorcycle.

er. ok i ride when the damn thing isnt broken.

Dogs can be a big problem on the bike (which is what I think "Skel3tor1" was trying to say... ? maybe...)

The best way to scam the dog is to let it get really close to you and then take off fast. If you're already in motion, it's amazing how fast a dog will stride to keep up with you. But if you start off very slow, they're easily tricked when you take off fast, and they're unable to pick up the speed with you.

Again... I'm thinking that's what the post was about, but if it was only about being irritated with a dog owner not using a leash, then it should have gone into the "Soap Box" forum.

i just keep a 2x4 in my back pocket incase i need to go road rash on something.

cattle prods have also been known to be effective

Dude. Augusta Sucks (Yes, I've lived there.)

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the area, and the living is easy in that area. What I hate is the freaking PEOPLE! I lived in a rural neigborhood (Summerville) whee people let their mutts run free ALL THE DAMN TIME. I also had a good friend get clobbered by a hit and run. He was at a red light and someone wasn't paying attention and ran into him. Broke his bike, Broke his arm, and the person just took off like a rocket after it happened. (It was a Gold colored Saturn.) In short, the CSRA was great for livin', bad for ridin'.

Pay attention out there. Have a drink at the SOUL BAR for me. Or if you aren't into booze, go grab a coffee at the Metro Cafe. Oh, you might know about them already, but if you don't, check out http://www.csramotorsports.com/ They are very car-oriented, but there are a few riders you can hook up with. The Class Six car club are some good guys.
