Following a biker to say hi... weird or normal?

I was coming home from work today when a sportie merged right near me on the freeway. About 10 miles later and he was still in front. He actually lived 3 miles before my house. So, when he went down a residential road I decided what the hell and followed him up to his house. We talked for a few moments. He was on a '01 Suzuki GSXR 1100. I was like, no wonder you were able to smoke me like a cheap cigar after one of those decreasing radius turns to merge into traffic. lol.

So is this sort of activity frowned upon or welcomed upon? Have you ever followed anyone or have you been followed?

I would have no problems with a casual chat at a gas station, near my bike, at a coffee shop, etc. It's the following me to my house part that is bad - not the conversation. :)

Never having been to the south I won't comment on that part. :)

Follow home = creepy. And I'm from TX :o

What you're suppose to do is, when you pass by, you blip the horn and nod. We have several bikers (sport and cruisers) that live on our street. The sport bikers are too good to notice us out in our drive with the bikes, but the JPN cruiser guy looks and nods, even tapped the horn his last time by when he and DH both pull into the street one after the other.
