don't pick someone who weighs heavier than you.
seriously though... make sure you explain to them the details on how they should act. you do know how they should act, right?
also, practice on parking lots 1st together w/ your passenger since this will be your 1st try.

Of course I'm generalizing from a single example here, but everyone does that. At least I do.

I think that other posting related more to being a pillion.
That's a good start because you want that person to do all that. However, you're going to want to get used to that M50 of yours a bit more before you start taking passengers.
I don't recall if it's your first bike or not but if it is then definately wait a bit before you take passengers (a few months or a few thousand miles) as you get used to riding.
I don't think I'd take a passenger on a bike until I was comfortable putting it through all it's graces.

I usually give them a "pre-ride" safety briefing. Here is what I usually tell them:
1. Let me drive the bike.
2. Sit there and enjoy the ride.
3. Don't worry about leaning, it will happen naturally and for goodness sakes don't counter lean.
4. Keep your feet on the pegs at all times, even when we stop.
5. Don't even think about getting off until I tell you to.
I also point out the location of the pipes and advise them that it hurts really bad to get burned by them.
