Sticking disc brake- 1983 GL650i

Purchased a Honda GL650i Silverwing Interstate. One of the front disc brakes will stick if the front brake is applied, and instead of springing back the lever will remain depressed. The guy I bought the bike from had to unscrew something in order to release the pressure so the brake would let go. My question is this: Will bleeding the brakes possibly remedy this situation, or should I go ahead and get a rebuild kit from Honda? Or is there another approach I should try first?
